Every ball valve isolates with a quarter turn. The ball valve types below differ in how the body is built and how it connects to your pipework.
End connections can be BSP, NPT or socket weld, depending on the valve configuration, with a lockable lever available as standard
For larger lines and bolted pipework, the 2-piece 316 stainless flanged ball valve is stocked in ANSI Class 150, with a Table E drilled version for Australian flange patterns. A firesafe rated flanged model with an ISO mounting pad suits fuel and hydrocarbon service.
L-port ball valve: directs flow between two of the available ports, typically allowing the flow to be switched from one connection to another.
T-port ball valve: can provide different flow configurations, such as directing flow from one inlet to either of two outlets, or connecting multiple ports depending on the valve design and operating position.
The actual flow paths depend on the port configuration and valve design.
Plastic ball valves are available on request for irrigation, water treatment and chemical dosing. For anything outside the standard range, we manufacture custom ball valves from 20mm to 1500mm in stainless, carbon steel, brass and bronze, including trunnion-mounted designs for high pressure. Send the spec through our custom ball valves page for a quote.
316 stainless carries 2 to 3 percent molybdenum, which gives it far better resistance to chloride corrosion than 304 or brass. That matters on coastal sites and in bore water, brine and mining process water. Our stainless range is cast to ASTM A351 CF8M, the casting equivalent of 316. Comparing grades for a specific media? Four decisions cover almost every order we take.
Our Pressure-Temperature Ratings reference and Valve Selection Guide cover the details.
We hold more than 1,000 valve lines in stock and ship Australia-wide, with free shipping on orders of $100 or more and a $25 flat rate below that. Our head office and main warehouse are in Bibra Lake, WA, with branches in Newman WA, Hallam VIC, Salisbury Plain SA, Moorebank NSW, and Tingalpa and Townsville QLD. Our national network supports 24/7 emergency valve service and in-house repair and overhaul workshops. Got an obsolete valve with no part number? Send us the specification or the old valve and we’ll help source an equivalent.

Not for long. A standard ball valve is an on-off isolation valve. Left half open, high-velocity flow past the edge of the ball erodes the PTFE seats and can cause cavitation, and the valve stops sealing. To regulate flow, use a globe valve or a V-port control ball valve. Our globe valve range covers the throttling options we stock.
Fit a full bore 2-piece or 3-piece stainless ball valve so the pump isn’t working against a restriction, and put a check valve between the pump and the ball valve to stop backflow and reverse spin when the pump stops. The ball valve lets you isolate the pump for maintenance. The check valve protects it.
Yes. We deliver to every state and territory. After dispatch, Perth metro orders take 1 to 2 business days, other capital cities 3 to 6, regional areas 5 to 8 and remote areas 7 to 14. For mine, plant or construction site deliveries, add the site name, gate number and receiving hours in the order notes so the carrier gets through on the first attempt.
WOG stands for water, oil and gas, and the number is the maximum cold working pressure in psi for those media. A 1000 WOG stainless ball valve is rated to 1000 psi, or about 69 bar, at ambient temperature. The rating drops as temperature rises because the seats soften, so check the pressure-temperature chart for any line running above about 100°C.
Yes. Choose a ball valve with an ISO 5211 mounting pad and we can supply it with a pneumatic or electric actuator fitted and tested. Tell us the supply air pressure or voltage, fail-open or fail-close, and any limit switch or positioner needs. Our actuation page lists the actuator ranges we carry.
