Description

The 2-Piece 316 Stainless Steel Flanged Ball Valve is a durable full bore isolation valve designed for reliable shut-off in industrial, commercial, and process applications. Manufactured from ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel, it offers excellent corrosion resistance and dependable performance across a wide range of compatible media.

This valve features ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanged construction with AS 2129 Table E flat face drilling, making it suitable for installations where Table E flange compatibility is required. The face-to-face dimensions are in accordance with ANSI B16.10, providing a standardised design for flanged piping systems.

The full bore design allows high flow capacity with minimal pressure drop, while the PTFE seats and packing provide reliable sealing performance. The valve also includes a blow-out proof stem, investment cast body, and lockable lever handle for safe, secure, and dependable operation.

The ISO 5211 mounting pad allows for future automation using compatible pneumatic or electric actuators.

What does “full bore” mean on a flanged ball valve?

A full bore (or full port) valve has an internal ball opening that is the same diameter as the pipe it’s installed in. This design minimizes flow restriction and pressure drop, making it ideal where maximum flow performance is important.

Why does this valve have a Table E drilled flange pattern?

The AS 2129 Table E drilled pattern refers to the flat face flange drilling dimensions used in some international standards. It ensures the valve mates properly with compatible Table E flanges on pipework. Different flange tables (e.g., D, E, F) specify hole spacing and size for bolt connections.

What is the ISO 5211 mounting pad and why is it included?

An ISO 5211 mounting pad is a standardized interface at the top of the valve that allows actuators (like electric or pneumatic operators) to be mounted directly without extra brackets. This saves time and makes automation simpler and more consistent across valve models.

What kind of pressures and industries is a Class 150 flanged ball valve suitable for?

A Class 150 flanged rating means the valve is designed for moderate pressure fluid systems per ANSI/ASME B16.5 standard. These valves are commonly used in industrial process, water treatment, chemical, and general piping applications where robust flanged connections and full bore performance are needed.

How do the materials (316 SS and PTFE) benefit the valve’s performance?

This valve’s 316 stainless steel body and ball provide excellent corrosion resistance in many environments. The PTFE seats and packing enhance chemical resistance and sealing performance, helping ensure reliable operation over time.
