Description

The 2-Piece 316 Stainless Steel Firesafe Ball Valve is a heavy-duty flanged isolation valve designed for demanding industrial and process applications where reliable shut-off, safety, and durability are required. Manufactured from ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel, this valve provides excellent corrosion resistance and dependable performance across a wide range of compatible media.

Designed and manufactured in accordance with ANSI B16.34, this valve features ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanged connections and face-to-face dimensions to ANSI B16.10, making it suitable for standard Class 150 flanged piping systems.

The full bore design allows high flow capacity with minimal pressure drop, while the TFM 1600 seats, graphite packing, anti-static device, and blow-out proof stem provide enhanced sealing performance and safe operation. The valve is fire safe to API 607 Edition 5, making it suitable for applications where fire-tested valve construction is required.

The ISO 5211 mounting pad allows for direct mounting of compatible pneumatic or electric actuators, making this valve suitable for both manual operation and future automation.

What does “fire safe to API 607” mean?

A valve certified to API 607 (Edition 5) has been tested to ensure it can maintain pressure integrity and shut-off capability during and after exposure to fire. In the event of a fire, the valve is designed to limit leakage and help isolate the system for improved safety.

What materials make this valve fire-safe?

This valve uses TFM 1600 seats and graphite packing, which provide reliable sealing under normal conditions and maintain sealing performance at elevated temperatures during fire exposure. The 316 stainless steel (CF8M) body and ball also offer excellent strength and corrosion resistance.

What is the benefit of the ISO 5211 mounting pad?

The ISO 5211 mounting pad allows direct mounting of pneumatic or electric actuators without additional brackets. This simplifies automation, reduces installation time, and ensures compatibility with standard actuator interfaces.

What does Class 150 mean for pressure rating?

ANSI Class 150 refers to the pressure-temperature rating defined by ANSI B16.5 and B16.34 standards. Class 150 valves are widely used in industrial process systems and are suitable for moderate pressure applications, depending on operating temperature and media.

What is the purpose of the anti-static device and blow-out proof stem?

The anti-static device prevents the build-up of static electricity between the ball, stem, and body, reducing ignition risk in hazardous environments. The blow-out proof stem is designed to remain securely retained within the valve body under pressure, improving operational safety.
