Description

The 316 Stainless Steel Gate Valve is a reliable manual isolation valve designed for general industrial, commercial, and process applications. Manufactured from ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel, it provides excellent corrosion resistance and dependable performance across a range of compatible media.

Gate valves are commonly used for on/off isolation service, where the valve is normally operated in either the fully open or fully closed position. When fully open, the gate design provides a clear flow path with minimal restriction, making it suitable for applications where low pressure drop is preferred.

This valve features a 316 stainless steel stem and disc, PTFE gasket and packing, an investment cast body, and an adjustable gland nut for serviceability. The non-rising stem provides compact operation, making it suitable for installations where vertical clearance may be limited.

BSP threaded ends are supplied in accordance with BS 21:1973.

What is the primary function of this gate valve?

This gate valve is designed for full shut-off and isolation of flow in pipelines. When open, the gate retracts fully from the flow path, allowing minimal pressure drop and smooth flow, making it ideal for general industrial, marine, and plumbing applications.

What does a non-rising stem (NRS) design mean?

In a non-rising stem design, the stem does not extend or rise as the valve opens or closes. This allows installation in areas with limited vertical space, while still providing reliable operation and easy integration into compact piping systems.

Why is PTFE used for gaskets and packing?

PTFE provides excellent chemical resistance, low friction, and long-lasting sealing performance. It ensures leak-free operation, reduces maintenance requirements, and can handle a wide range of water, oil, air, and chemical services.

Why is 316 stainless steel used for the body, stem, and disc?

ASTM A351 CF8M (316) stainless steel delivers exceptional corrosion resistance, strength, and durability. It is suitable for aggressive media, such as chemical-laden water, saltwater, or industrial fluids, ensuring long-term reliability.

What connection and pressure standards does this valve meet?

This valve features BSP female threaded ends and is rated for 200 PSI W.O.G. (Water, Oil, Gas). The investment-cast body ensures precision construction and structural integrity, providing a high-quality, leak-tight solution for general industrial and light-duty applications.
