Description

The A105 Forged Steel OS&Y Gate Valve is a high-performance isolation valve designed for reliable service in high-pressure and high-temperature applications. Manufactured from ASTM A105 forged carbon steel, it delivers superior strength, durability, and pressure integrity, making it ideal for oil, gas, steam, and industrial process systems.

The Outside Screw and Yoke (OS&Y) design provides a clear visual indication of valve position while protecting the stem threads from process media, extending operational life and improving maintenance safety. The hard-faced seats ensure excellent sealing performance and resistance to wear and erosion in demanding service conditions.

Built to API 602 standards, this valve features a welded bonnet for enhanced pressure containment and leak prevention. Graphite gaskets and packing provide dependable sealing at elevated temperatures. Available with NPT or socket weld (SW) end connections, it ensures flexible installation across a wide range of piping configurations.

What is the primary purpose of this gate valve?

This valve is designed for reliable isolation and shut-off in high-pressure and high-temperature pipeline systems. It provides full shut-off to protect downstream equipment and maintain process control in oil, gas, steam, and industrial applications.

What does the OS&Y (Outside Screw & Yoke) design provide?

The OS&Y design features a stem that rises outside the yoke, giving a clear visual indication of whether the valve is open or closed. It also keeps the threads protected from process media, reducing corrosion and wear, and simplifying maintenance and operation in demanding conditions.

Why are hard-faced seats used?

Hard-faced seats offer superior wear and erosion resistance, ensuring tight sealing even under high-pressure, high-temperature, or abrasive conditions. This extends the valve’s service life and maintains reliable shut-off in critical applications.

Why is forged A105 carbon steel used for the body?

ASTM A105 forged carbon steel provides excellent mechanical strength, toughness, and resistance to pressure-related stresses. This makes the valve suitable for demanding environments where durability, pressure integrity, and long-term reliability are essential.

What standards and connections does this valve comply with?

This valve is manufactured to API 602 standards with a welded bonnet for enhanced sealing. End connections include NPT (ASME B1.20.1) or socket weld (ASME B16.11), and graphite gaskets and packing ensure leak-tight performance under elevated temperature and pressure. It is rated Class 800, making it suitable for high-pressure process systems.
