Description

The Cast Iron Ball Check Valve is a robust, low-maintenance non-return valve designed specifically for handling sewage, wastewater, and other fluids containing suspended solids. Its simple ball-type design allows for unobstructed flow in one direction while automatically sealing to prevent reverse flow, making it ideal for gravity-fed or low-pressure applications.

Constructed from high-quality cast iron and protected with a durable Fusion-Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coating, the valve provides excellent resistance to corrosion and harsh service conditions. The resilient EPDM ball ensures a tight seal and quiet operation, while the flanged Table D & E connection allows for straightforward installation and maintenance.

What is the purpose of a ball check valve?

A ball check valve allows fluid to flow freely in one direction while automatically preventing backflow. The ball moves to seal the flow path when reverse flow occurs, protecting pumps, pipelines, and other system components from damage. Its simple design also helps reduce clogging in systems with suspended solids.

What types of fluids can it handle?

The valve is well suited for sewage, wastewater, and other fluids containing suspended solids. Its EPDM ball seat ensures reliable sealing even in abrasive or particulate-laden liquids, making it ideal for low-pressure or gravity-fed applications.

Why is cast iron with FBE coating used?

Cast iron provides strength and durability, while the Fusion-Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coating adds excellent corrosion resistance and protection against harsh environments. This combination extends service life and ensures reliable performance in wastewater and industrial applications.

What are Table D & E flanged connections?

Table D & E flanges follow the AS2129 standard, providing standardized dimensions for secure bolted connections. These flanges allow for straightforward installation and maintenance in pipelines designed to these specifications.

What are the benefits of the ball check design?

The ball check design provides a simple, compact, and low-maintenance solution for non-return flow. The resilient EPDM ball ensures a tight seal with minimal leakage, and the unobstructed flow path reduces pressure drop and the risk of clogging in pipelines carrying solids or sludge.
