Description

The Cast Iron Lugged Butterfly Valve is a reliable isolation valve designed for general industrial, commercial, and water service applications. Featuring a cast iron body, ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel disc, and EPDM seat, this valve provides dependable shut-off performance across a wide range of compatible services.

The valve is supplied with a blue FBE coated body for added protection and durability. Its lugged body design with metric threaded holes is suitable for installation between AS 2129 Table E flanges, making it suitable for flanged pipework systems where a secure bolted connection is required.

The gearbox operation provides smooth and controlled manual operation, making this valve well suited for larger sizes or applications where easier operation is preferred. The gearbox includes a position indicator, allowing the operator to clearly identify the valve position.

The valve also includes an ISO mounting pad and square stem up to 12″, making it suitable for future actuation where required.

What is a lugged butterfly valve used for?

A lugged butterfly valve is used for flow control and shut-off in piping systems where isolation and maintenance flexibility are required. The lugged body allows the valve to be bolted directly to flanges, enabling one side of the pipeline to be disconnected while the other side remains in service.

What are the advantages of an EPDM seat?

An EPDM seat provides excellent elasticity and sealing performance, particularly for water, air, and many mild chemicals. It ensures reliable, leak-free operation and long service life in water treatment, HVAC, and general industrial applications.

Why choose a gear-operated butterfly valve?

A gear operator allows smooth, controlled valve operation with reduced effort, making it ideal for larger valve sizes or applications requiring precise flow regulation. It also improves safety and ease of use in systems where frequent or gradual adjustment is needed.

Why is a cast iron body commonly used in butterfly valves?

Cast iron offers strong mechanical strength, durability, and cost-effective performance for moderate pressure applications. It is widely used in industrial and commercial systems where long service life and reliable operation are essential.

What flange standards is the valve compatible with?

Compatibility with AS2129 Table E flanges ensures secure installation, proper alignment, and reliable sealing in common water and industrial piping systems designed to this standard.
