What is a lugged butterfly valve used for?

A lugged butterfly valve is used for shut-off and flow control in piping systems. The lugged body design allows the valve to be installed between flanges and also enables one side of the pipeline to be disconnected while the other side remains pressurised, making it especially useful for maintenance and isolation duties.

What are the advantages of an EPDM seat?

An EPDM seat provides excellent sealing performance, flexibility, and resistance to water, air, and many mild chemicals. It ensures a tight, leak-free seal and offers long service life in water treatment, HVAC, and general industrial applications.

Why is a cast iron body commonly used?

Cast iron offers good mechanical strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness for moderate pressure applications. It is widely used in water and industrial systems where reliable performance and long-term structural stability are required.

What does AS2129 Table E flange compatibility mean?

AS2129 Table E indicates the valve is designed to fit pipelines using Table E flange dimensions. This ensures correct alignment, secure bolting, and compatibility with commonly used flange standards in water and industrial systems.

What is the benefit of a lever-operated butterfly valve?

Lever operation allows quick and simple manual control, making it ideal for smaller valve sizes and applications where frequent operation is required. The lever provides clear visual indication of valve position and enables fast opening or closing.
