Description

The Cast Iron Wafer Butterfly Valve is a reliable isolation valve designed for general industrial, commercial, and compatible fluid service applications. Featuring a cast iron body, ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel disc, and NBR seat, this valve provides dependable shut-off performance in a compact wafer design.

The valve is supplied with a blue FBE coated body for added protection and durability. Its wafer pattern design is suitable for installation between compatible flanges, including AS 2129 Table D/E and ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flange drillings.

The NBR seat is suitable for many general service applications involving water, air, compatible oils, and selected fluids. The gearbox operation provides smooth and controlled manual operation, making this valve suitable for larger sizes or applications where easier operation is preferred. The gearbox also includes a position indicator, allowing the operator to clearly identify the valve position.

The valve also includes an ISO mounting pad and square stem up to 12″, making it suitable for future actuation where required.

What is a wafer type butterfly valve used for?

A wafer type butterfly valve is used for flow control and isolation in piping systems. Its compact design allows installation between flanges, making it a space-saving solution for industrial, HVAC, and water treatment applications.

What are the benefits of an NBR seat?

An NBR (nitrile rubber) seat provides excellent sealing performance and strong resistance to oils, fuels, and hydrocarbons. This makes it suitable for applications involving petroleum-based fluids while still delivering reliable, leak-free operation.

Why choose a gear-operated butterfly valve?

A gear operator allows smooth, controlled valve movement with minimal effort, especially in larger valve sizes. It enables precise flow adjustment and safer operation in systems where gradual opening and closing are required.

Why is cast iron used for the valve body?

Cast iron offers good mechanical strength, durability, and cost efficiency for moderate pressure systems. It is widely used in industrial and commercial applications where dependable performance and long service life are essential.

What flange standards is the valve compatible with?

Compatibility with AS2129 Table D/E and ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanges allows installation in a wide range of pipeline systems, ensuring proper alignment, secure bolting, and reliable sealing.
