Description

The Cast Iron Wafer Butterfly Valve is a reliable and economical isolation valve designed for general industrial, commercial, and compatible fluid service applications. Featuring a cast iron body, ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel disc, and NBR seat, this valve provides dependable shut-off performance in a compact wafer design.

The valve is supplied with a blue FBE coated body for added protection and durability. Its wafer pattern design is suitable for installation between compatible flanges, including AS 2129 Table D/E and ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flange drillings.

The NBR seat makes this valve suitable for many general service applications where compatibility with oils, air, water, and selected fluids is required. The valve is lever operated with position locks, allowing simple manual control and secure positioning.

The valve also includes an ISO mounting pad and square stem up to 12″, making it suitable for future actuation where required.

What is a wafer butterfly valve used for?

A wafer butterfly valve is used for flow control and isolation in piping systems. Its compact wafer-style design allows installation between flanges, making it a space-efficient solution for water, air, oil, and general industrial applications.

What are the advantages of an NBR seat?

An NBR (nitrile rubber) seat offers excellent sealing performance and good resistance to oils, fuels, and hydrocarbons. This makes it particularly suitable for applications involving petroleum-based fluids while still providing reliable, leak-free operation.

Why is a cast iron body commonly used?

Cast iron provides good mechanical strength, durability, and cost efficiency for moderate pressure applications. It is widely used in HVAC, water supply, and industrial systems where reliable performance and long service life are required.

What are the benefits of lever-operated butterfly valves?

Lever operation allows quick and simple manual control, making it ideal for smaller valve sizes and applications where frequent opening and closing is required. The lever also provides clear visual indication of valve position.

What flange standards is this valve compatible with?

Compatibility with AS2129 Table D/E and ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanges ensures easy installation in a wide range of piping systems, providing secure alignment and reliable sealing.
