Description

The Cast Steel OS&Y Gate Valve Class 300 is a robust isolation valve engineered for high-pressure and high-temperature service in demanding industrial applications. Constructed from ASTM A216 WCB cast carbon steel, it provides excellent mechanical strength and durability under severe operating conditions.

The Outside Screw and Yoke (OS&Y) design keeps the stem threads external to the process media, offering a clear visual indication of valve position and ensuring long service life. Hard-faced seating surfaces deliver enhanced wear resistance and tight sealing performance even under severe operating cycles.

Designed and manufactured in accordance with API 600 / API 6D standards and pressure-rated to ASME B16.34, this valve guarantees reliable performance and full compliance with international specifications. The graphite gaskets and packing ensure leak-free sealing at elevated temperatures, while the stainless steel stem provides corrosion resistance and smooth operation.

Ideal for use in refineries, power generation, petrochemical plants, and general industrial services, this valve combines long-lasting durability with ease of maintenance.

What is the primary function of this gate valve?

This valve is designed to provide reliable shut-off and isolation in high-pressure and high-temperature industrial pipeline systems. Its construction ensures tight sealing to protect downstream equipment and maintain process integrity in applications such as refineries, petrochemical plants, and power generation facilities.

How does the OS&Y (Outside Screw & Yoke) design benefit operation?

The OS&Y design positions the stem outside the yoke, allowing a clear visual indication of the valve’s open or closed position. By keeping the threads external to the process media, the design reduces corrosion and wear on the stem, simplifies maintenance, and extends the overall service life of the valve.

Why are hard-faced seats used?

Hard-faced seats provide superior wear and erosion resistance, ensuring reliable sealing even under extreme pressure, high temperature, or abrasive operating conditions. This improves the valve’s durability and guarantees tight shut-off performance across its service life.

What materials are used and why?

The valve body and wedge are made from ASTM A216 WCB cast carbon steel for strength and durability under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions. The hard-faced seats use A105 material for superior wear resistance, while the stem is ASTM A182 F6 stainless steel to resist corrosion and provide smooth operation. Graphite gaskets and packing enhance sealing performance in demanding environments.

What standards and specifications does this valve meet?

This valve is manufactured to API 600 / API 6D standards, tested to API 598, and pressure-rated to ASME B16.34. Flanged ends comply with ANSI B16.5 Class 300 RF, and face-to-face dimensions follow ANSI B16.10, ensuring compatibility with standard piping systems and providing reliable performance in critical industrial applications.
