Description

The Cast Steel Swing Check Valve – Flanged Class 150 RF is engineered for reliable backflow prevention in high-temperature and high-pressure industrial applications. Manufactured from ASTM A216 WCB cast steel, this valve delivers exceptional mechanical strength, toughness, and long service life even under demanding process conditions.

Featuring a swing-type disc design, the valve allows full flow in one direction and automatically closes to prevent reverse flow, protecting pumps, compressors, and pipelines from damage. The hard-faced seats ensure superior wear resistance and tight sealing, while the graphite gasket provides excellent performance in elevated temperatures and harsh service environments.

Flanged ends are machined to ANSI B16.5 Class 150 Raised Face (RF) standards for easy installation and secure, leak-tight connections. The body is designed and dimensioned in accordance with ANSI B16.10, ensuring compatibility with standard pipeline configurations.

What is the purpose of a flanged swing check valve?

A flanged swing check valve allows fluid to flow in one direction and automatically prevents reverse flow. The swing-type disc opens fully during forward flow and closes when flow reverses, protecting pumps, compressors, and pipelines from backflow, pressure surges, and potential damage.

What are the benefits of hard-faced seats?

Hard-faced seats provide excellent wear resistance and maintain tight sealing performance even under high pressure, elevated temperatures, and abrasive conditions. This ensures reliable long-term operation with minimal maintenance in demanding industrial systems.

Why is cast steel (ASTM A216 WCB) used in construction?

Cast steel offers high mechanical strength, toughness, and durability, making it ideal for heavy-duty industrial applications. It can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature conditions and harsh process environments while maintaining structural integrity over time.

What do ANSI Class 150 raised-face flanges and B16.10 face-to-face dimensions mean?

ANSI B16.5 Class 150 raised-face (RF) flanges provide secure, leak-resistant connections, while ANSI B16.10 face-to-face dimensions ensure standardized installation lengths for compatibility with existing pipeline systems and easy integration into industrial layouts.

How does the valve perform in high-temperature and continuous service?

The combination of hard-faced seats and graphite gaskets provides reliable sealing and wear resistance under elevated temperatures. The swing disc ensures smooth flow and fast closure when flow reverses, enabling dependable, maintenance-free operation in continuous or challenging service conditions.
