Description

The Ductile Iron Resilient Seated Gate Valve is a durable flanged isolation valve designed for water, utility, irrigation, and general industrial applications. Featuring a ductile iron body, EPDM coated wedge, and stainless steel stem, this valve provides reliable shut-off performance in suitable pipeline systems.

Gate valves are generally used for on/off isolation service, where the valve is operated in either the fully open or fully closed position. The resilient seated wedge design provides dependable sealing, while the non-rising stem allows compact operation where vertical clearance is limited.

The valve is supplied with AS 2129 Table E flanged connections, making it suitable for compatible Australian standard flanged pipework. It is also available in an OS&Y rising stem version where visible stem position is preferred.

What is the primary purpose of this gate valve?

This gate valve is designed to provide reliable isolation and shut-off in water supply, wastewater, and general industrial pipeline systems. Its design ensures minimal leakage and long-term performance, making it ideal for both aboveground and underground installations.

What does a non-rising stem (NRS) design mean?

A non-rising stem means the stem does not move up or down when the valve opens or closes. This allows installation in areas with limited vertical space, such as underground or compact piping layouts, while maintaining smooth and reliable valve operation.

Why is a resilient EPDM-coated wedge used for the seat?

The EPDM-coated resilient wedge ensures a tight seal under both high and low-pressure conditions. It provides flexibility to accommodate minor misalignments, prevents leakage, and maintains long-lasting sealing performance in potable water, wastewater, and general industrial applications.

Why is ductile iron chosen for the valve body?

Ductile iron provides excellent mechanical strength, impact resistance, and corrosion protection. It ensures the valve can withstand the stresses of high-flow pipelines, environmental exposure, and long-term service, offering durability in both municipal and industrial systems.

What flange and sealing standards does this valve comply with?

This valve features AS 2129 Table E flanged ends for straightforward installation into standard pipelines. The stainless steel stem and NBR gaskets and O-rings provide corrosion-resistant, reliable sealing, ensuring leak-free performance in a wide range of water, wastewater, and process systems.
