Description

The Rochester S286 Oil Level Switch is a capacitance-type level switch with no moving parts, reducing maintenance and adding to its long-service life. With a ten second delay as standard to eliminate false alarms, the S286 can also be custom built to suit your application.

Available in a variety of thread options, the S286 Oil Level Switch also features a tiny spatial footprint, limiting tank intrusions and reducing risk of damage; the S286 is optimised for performance and longevity.

What is the Fozmula S286 Oil Level Switch?

The Fozmula S286 is a capacitance-type oil level switch designed to detect when the oil level falls below or rises above a preset level. It provides an alarm or control signal without using moving parts, helping reduce maintenance and extend service life.

What type of oil can the S286 Oil Level Switch be used with?

The S286 is designed primarily for use with mineral oils, including oils commonly found in engines and hydraulic applications.

Does the S286 Oil Level Switch have any moving parts?
No. The S286 uses capacitance technology and has no moving parts, which helps minimise mechanical wear, maintenance requirements and the risk of component failure.
What power supply does the Fozmula S286 require?

The S286 operates on a 9–36 VDC supply and has a low supply current of approximately 7 mA plus the source output current.

Does the S286 have a built-in alarm delay?

Yes. A 10-second alarm delay is standard, helping prevent false alarms caused by oil movement or turbulence. Other delay settings can be factory configured for specific applications.

Where should the S286 Oil Level Switch be installed?

For the highest accuracy, the S286 is ideally installed horizontally at the required oil level, where it can detect the level change and provide the required alarm or control signal. Vertical installation is also possible depending on the application
